Buying Auto-Sleepers Locally.

So, here we have an interesting debate about buying Auto-Sleepers locally. Maybe you have been in this situation and have had to make that decision to buy from your local dealer. There is the old saying a job at home is worth two away! However, here we are talking about spending some serious money as motorhomes are not cheap items. Historically, it may have been the case of my local dealer is not that local, they are miles away. In fact, there has to be logic in both buying local and buying further away. Let us think about that for a moment, why would you buy local? Well having that peace of mind if something goes wrong, because we can drop it off on the way shopping. However, things usually are found to be wrong when you are using your motorhome. So, what good is that, when you are broken down two miles outside Madrid?

Buying Auto-Sleepers Locally.

In fact, just may be the real issue here is really about price and service. Think about what persuaded you to buy an Auto-Sleeper in the first place. Were you at a motorhome show, had you seen it advertised on the portal for example? What makes this in the end a special debate is the people you meet on the journey to buying an Auto-Sleeper. Having confidence in them is one thing. However, buying an Auto-Sleepers locally, certainly is a debate that is wider than just that.

Consider Ticking Boxes.

Ask yourself this, is the dealer selling you an Auto-Sleeper or are you buying it? Think again, as this is an important factor in the decision to buy locally or further afield. Being confident in both aspects are important. Tick the box and ask does this Auto-Sleeper motorhome model fit your bill? Many people have fallen at the first hurdle on that one! Does, that mean it is the layout for you? So, has it the right number of berths? Also, does the seating with seat belts meet your requirements? Having these questions with answers are all part of the decision to be made. Now where do we buy one from?

This is no doubt going to be an interesting debate. In addition, we are talking three key things here. Buying local, servicing and repairs, versus buying away from home. Clearly motorhome manufacturers want a good dealer network to support them. Again, we must ask how good is that Auto-Sleeper dealer network? How far are they apart? Do they know what they are doing? Hopefully, the answer to all of these questions are all OK.

Come on Down The Price is Right.

So, widen the debate, a good deal is when two parties are happy with the price. A bad deal is when things start to go wrong. Alas, motorhomes being houses on wheels, do go wrong even Auto-Sleepers at times.

Supply and Demand.

Therefore, if the local Auto-Sleeper dealer does not have one, be it the motorhome model you want to buy. Therefore, at that point then you may have to travel to buy one. In the event that you need a part or repair, the dealer may be able to repair, but does not have the part. In fact, this opens up a can of worms in some ways. How many times do we see comments good and bad about a motorhome dealerships? Quite a few, but who says bad things about a local dealer? Surprisingly, not to many, lots of time out of frustration and nothing else do people complain.

So, lets go full circle, buying Auto-Sleepers locally is all about what you the customer wants to do. In fact, we think that nine times out of ten customers are looking first at price. In fact, they may be looking at that dream Auto-Sleeper motorhome and cannot afford it! Therefore, is that really ten out of ten, only when customers are offered a friendly professional service to match the deal?

Our Conclusion.

There is no doubt, there are factors for and against buying Auto-Sleepers locally. Our opinion for what is is worth, first of all buy the Auto-Sleeper that you want! Do your research, it is easy online in this day and age. Have the courage to question what services the dealer can provide you with, in addition to the norm.
