Wewelsburg is a village in northern Germany with a castle that dates to the late Middle Ages although it has considerably changed since then. It is the only triangular castle in Germany with three towers. I came to visit because of my interest in twentieth century history and in this video I show where I parked my RV as well as showing some scenes of the castle, views of it and the village in general.
The point of my visit was to update two videos I did in 2010 and to get some better footage of it.
The castle was planned to be a higher SS training school, being in a location Himmler considered to be the ‘centre of the world’. At least one meeting took place here, where the National Socialist plans for treatment of the citizens of the Soviet Union was discussed. Towards the end of the video, you can see the swastika in a runic form which for the National Socialist regime had some significance.
