What personal data do we collect and why do we collect it
We collect data on both business addresses and personal data from enquiries made. Usually is provided by visitors interested in the information we display. That can be in the format of name, email address, personal account preferences; transactional data, such as purchase information; and technical data, such as information about cookies. Third-party advertisements engage in the collection and retention of personal data, such as data concerning buying any leisure vehicles. All of the data collection and retention are provided via one form on the website.
This is where the individual making the inquiry provides active consent, the user has given this usually because of the nature of the enquiry. Personal data is also generated from technical processes such as contact forms, being a member of a group, or comments, cookies, analytics, and third-party embeds. By default, we use a WordPress application with various plugins. The plugins also include professional forms. The Word Press application does not collect any personal data about visitors. However, it does collect the data shown on the user profile screen from registered users. Some of the plugins may collect personal data to assist in making an enquiry.
Historically, information was captured through comments. This no longer is the case as it resulted in spam emails and has now been disconnected. We have noted the data which WordPress collects by default. This comments section allowed visitors to leave comments on the site. We collected the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
We upload media files to promote the motorhomes displayed on the website. All uploaded files are usually publicly accessible on other websites and use third-party cookies to enhance the browsing experience.
We upload images to the website, with some embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website subject to copyright.
By default, WordPress does not include a contact form. We use a form via a plugin provided. This captures personal data when someone submits a contact form. We keep this information to provide answers to the enquiries after which it is deleted.
Holding the data provided
We keep the data for as long as it is needed to contact the relevant persons to assist in the inquiry. This can vary for a certain period for customer service purposes. This may from time to time result in the use of the information submitted for marketing purposes.
We do have cookies on the website including those from THIRD PARTIES and cookies set by plugins, social media, and analytics. We have provided the cookies which WordPress installs by default. When you visit the website you will have to accept the cookies shown in the footer of the home page.

Example of affiliate program
Here is an example of an affiliate program that we promote. Placing an image on our website then displaying that has information of what the affiliate has to offer. In this example, goboony provide the use of a platform for motorhome and campervan owners to place their leisure vehicles for hire. Succesful rentals introductions to motorhome and campervan owners can then choose to rent out their motorhome or campervan. These become bookings recorded by the affiliate programs portal. The hirers choose what they want and supported by the affiliate when the rental takes place. We place a tracking code to identify we have passed on a referral via the page URL. In this case, a reference to a referral code MHCV21 is asked for when registering. Here at motorhomes campervans, we strive to put genuine affiliate links so users can find reliable information and benefit from that information displayed. Transactions, bookings and promotions are carried out by the affiliate. They act on behalf of the owner and the hirer. All the affiliates actions come under the GDPR legislation and are monitored, as with legal issues relating to renting of vehicles. Motorhomes Campervans is here to promote leisure vehicles and services by way of commissions and advertising fees. Information about us is available on the motorhomes campervans website.
