The Salone del Camper 2020 in Parma, Italy (12 to 20 September 2020) and the Leisure Vehicles Show in Paris, France (26 September to 04 October 2020) have confirmed they will go ahead despite other shows being cancelled or postponed due to concerns caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The Salone del Camper 2020 is the most important event in its sector in Italy, and will take place in its now traditional location, the Parma fairgrounds. There are two main organizing partners for the event, the Parma Fairs and the APC – Caravan and Camper Manufacturers Association.

There has been an average of over 130,000 visitors to the Parma show, with over 350 exhibitors and more than 700 leisure vehicles on display.

To be able to continue with the Parma show, all the required safety will be respected to make it its first “Covid-free” motorhome show: this includes spacing measures, sanitization of the premises, pavilions and, of course, the vehicles and all the structures present; masks, gels and everything needed to be truly anti-Coronavirus.

The themes for the main areas of the fair are: Caravan and Camper (a display of recreational vehicles, with some of the most important brands in the sector); Accessories and Tents (tents and camping accessories); Routes and Destinations (tourism for lovers of Open Air Tourism, including territories, routes, destinations and delight in local food and wine excellences); Shopping Area (shop for products and accessories).

Simone Niccolai, President of the APC-Association of Caravan and Camper Manufacturers commented: “We announce with great satisfaction that the Salone del Camper 2020 will be held! It is an important signal for our sector, which employs over 7,000 people and generates a turnover of over one billion euros. But it is a strong signal also for Italy that wants to leave and can do it also thanks to the camper vans, surely the safest means of transport, in which a family remains ‘isolated’ as if it were in their own home, while not giving up the holidays and travel. Tourism in Libertà proves once again to be a driving force of our country.”

“We are really happy to start again with a salon dedicated to a sector that is a pride of our made in Italy,” added Antonio Cellie CEO of Parma Fairs.

Thanks to the collaboration with APC, the Salone del Camper in Parma has become the second in Europe.

For the Leisure Vehicles Show in Paris-Le Bourget, to date, all of the exhibitors from last year have reserved a stand for the 2020 show.

The 55th Leisure Vehicles Show will take place from Saturday 26 September to Sunday 04 October 2020 at the Parc des Expositions de Paris – Le Bourget. It is open from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Free shuttles are available from the Le Bourget RER station and the Salon between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m.

The Leisure Vehicles Show, which has been held annually at the Paris-Le Bourget Exhibition Center since 1966, is by its durability and its figures, is one of the largest showcases of leisure vehicles in Europe. In 2019, the show welcomed 102,244 visitors for its 54th  edition.

The Leisure Vehicles Show is held on 200,000 m² divided into 5 halls and a large outdoor area, unlimited car parking, an area dedicated to motorhomes for visitors to the Show.

More than 200 stands of motorhomes, mobile homes, caravans, trailers, equipment and accessories are installed there, as well as representatives of the specialized press, associations linked to the sector of activity, credit and insurance organizations. A second-hand sales area between individuals completes the exhibition halls.

The Leisure Vehicles Show has been organized since its inception by UNIVDL, the Union of Leisure Vehicle Manufacturers.

Created in 1963 by the caravan manufacturers, UNIVDL brings together professionals in the motorhome, mobile home, caravan and trailer. It disseminates statistics, represents the profession with the public authorities, ensures communication, public relations, press relations and organizes the Leisure Vehicle Show every year.
